Alan could miss out on being TV top dog
TV3's Alan Hughes isn't holding out too much hope ahead of this weekend's Walkers TV Now Awards at the Mansion House.
Alan (41) is head to head with Bill Cullen, Daithi O Se, Ryan Tubridy and co-presenter Mark Cagney for Best Male Presenter.
However, the Ireland Am star claims that the pair, along with their female colleagues, Sinead Desmond and Anna Daly have decided not to canvass for votes.
Ireland AM has been nominated in two separate categories on the night, which include favourite Irish TV show and Ireland's favourite TV show ever.
"We've won favourite TV Show for the past two years in a row so it would be great to win again for a third but I'm not holding out too much hope," Alan, below, told the Diary. "There's huge competition."
The star, who stepped out to yesterday's Topflight media lunch in Koh restaurant, was remaining tight-lipped about who he would be bringing as his date on the night.
Guests at the invite-only event toasted the launch of WeTravel2, a worldwide travel division of Topflight.
Among the guests were managing director of Topflight Tony Collins, director of the company Carmel O'Reilly and Kevin Nolan, president of the Irish Tour Operators Federation.
