Eoghan McGarry (30) of Tymon North Road, Tallaght, had pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine at Sundrive Road Garda Station, Crumlin on September 2, 2014.
Yesterday Luigi Rea BL, defending confirmed for the benefit of the transcript that his client was escorted "by five security officers carrying riot shields".
He said McGarry had to be arraigned on three further charges before the court could proceed to sentence.
McGarry pleaded guilty to one further charge of being in possession of cannabis also at Sundrive Road Garda Station on the same date.
However when two additional charges of possessing and handling stolen jewellery at his home in September 2014 was put to him he pleaded not guilty.
Pieter Le Vert BL prosecuting, confirmed that the Director of Public Prosecutions required pleas to the additional charges and requested a trial date before Judge Martin Nolan set a date in April 2016 for trial.
