10pc levy cut urged
DUBLIN'S businesses have called for a 10pc reduction in commercial rates for businesses.
Gina Quin, Dublin Chamber chief executive, said central government had already cut its funding to local authorities but businesses could not bridge that funding gap from their own finances.
"For too long, Dublin businesses have been used as a financial crutch by local authorities," she said.
"This year, central government is cutting its funding to local authorities by at least 10pc, so we want to make it clear that local authorities must not turn to the business community -- through rates and charges -- to compensate for this loss."
