Leaders show no mercy to Hotspur
SHAMROCK ROVERS blasted Park Hotspur out of the water at the weekend as their 100% record shows no signs of wavering.
The Wexford town side's resistance was crushed by the hosts as they ran out 6-1 winners to make it six wins from six outings. Marty Kelly, Mike Dempsey, Chris Kenny and Eamon O'Brien landed singles for the league leaders, with Murt McKeown notching a brace to give their side a threepoint lead at the top of the pile.
Second spot still comfortably belongs to North End United but third spot is beginning to look like a golden ticket for Willy Wonka's factory, with no less than three sides clamouring for ownership rights.
Courtown Hibs joined Campile United and New Ross Celtic in the tussle on Sunday after picking up a 3-1 win over Forth Celtic. Efforts from Mick Kinsella, Darren Kennedy and Ian Travers earned them the three points, with Kevin Price netting Celtic's effort.
Elsewhere, Gorey Rangers were able to ease their relegation worries courtesy of a 2-0 win over fellow strugglers Wexford Bohs.
