WEXFORD film producer John Wallace of Black Sheep Productions and Des Doyle scored a major victory at Comic Con in San Diego in signing a distribution deal with Submarine Entertainment for their documentary 'Showrunners' - which boasts interviews with Hollywood heavyweights including 'Avengers' director Joss Whedon and 'Star Wars Episode 7' director JJ Abrams.

The Irish Film Board-funded documentary examines the pressure of running a major TV show, with the term 'showrunner' referring to the person with overall responsibility for the smooth running of such a large-scale production.

High-profile interviewees include Terence Winter ('Boardwalk Empire'), Damon Lindelof ('Lost'), Ronald D. Moore ('Battlestar Galactica'), Bill Prady ('The Big Bang Theory'), Hart Hanson ('Bones'), Jane Espenson ('Once Upon A Time'), Matthew Carnahan ('House Of Lies'), Robert and Michelle King ('The Good Wife'), Shawn Ryan ('The Shield') and David Shore ('House').

John Wallace's assistant directing credits include 'One Hundred Mornings', 'Garage', 'Inside I'm Dancing', 'Laws of Attraction' and 'Intermission'.

'Showrunners' is a co-production between Black Sheep Productions, Romark Entertainment, and Junto Entertainment, produced by John Wallace and Rock Shaink.

The documentary was co-produced by Ryan Patrick McGuffey and executive produced by Jimmy Nguyen, Jason Rose, and Christof Bove.
