The annual Féile Moshíológ at the gaelscoil in Gorey

Sara Gahan

The outstanding performance from the award-winning school orchestra brought the audience to its feet for an ovation at last week's Féile Moshíológ at the gaelscoil in Gorey.

The orchestra, under the musical direction of principal Carol Scott, performed well known songs from around the world.

The Féile, which is a celebration of music, song, and dance, also featured talent from Laura Kitt School of Irish Dancing, Sean Nós singer Colm Brennan, Tuaisceart Loch Garman, local musicians Mandy and Gerry O'Callaghan and Diarmuid Comerford, all expertly directed by South East Radio's Dave Redmond.

Young singer Patricia Lawlor blew everyone away with her performance.

Local Sean Nós singer Colm, who often provides weekly workshops in Gorey Library, provided a few lessons to parents and children interested.

The many guests indulged in the barbecue, teas, coffees, cakes, and sandwiches which were served throughout the evening at the Féile.

Gaelscoil Moshíológ would like to thank all who helped, attended, or supported the event in any way.
