Strictly seven for final night

Sara Gahan

A major fundraising effort took place in Kilanerin Community Hall last week as Tara Rocks GAA held their Strictly Club Dancing semi-final night in front of a packed house.

Tickets had been selling extremely well for the event and the dancers performed to a capacity crowd. A total of 10 couples took part on the night and they were anxious to show what they could do.

The standard on the night was said to be high, but in the end only seven couples could be chosen to go on and battle it out with Kilanerin in the grand final at Kilanerin Community Hall on Saturday, March 24, at 8 p.m.

Judges Fr Browne, Shelly Atkins and Theresa Hughes had the tough task of picking the finalists. The seven couples include: P and Anne Marie Ooley; Ger Doran and Helen O'Connor; Joey and Aisling Dwyer; Patrick Fortune and Caroline Doyle; Ben O'Connor and Ciara Flemming; John and Helen Higgins; Paddy Bolger and Angie Dooley.

There are a limited amount of tickets left for the final and are available from Noel Murphy's Gala store in Kilanerin, or call Ciara Fortune on 087 4605153. It will take place on Saturday, March 24, at 8 p.m., in Kilanerin Hall. Doors open at 6.30 p.m.
