As the Rasper Players enter final preparations for bringing their play 'Me and My Friend' to Monaco to the World Amateur Drama Festival on August 25, fundraising efforts towards the cost of the trip are continuing.

An afternoon tea event was recently held at Gorey Rugby Club and was very well supported. Thanks went to the Rugby Club, all who attended, and hosts Angela and Emma Evans.

Thanks also went to the Amber Springs Hotel for hosting a music festival the previous week which resulted in a donation to the Rasper Players.

Local audiences will get one last chance to see 'Me and My Friend' in the Amber Springs Hotel on Wednesday, August 16, at 8 p.m. It's a two act play, but the Rasper Players selected Act Two to take on the one act drama circuit, and then got invited to go to Monaco.

Reidin Dunne and Michelle Reid will perform Act Two in the Amber Springs Hotel, but the audience will also get to see Act One, which stars Vinnie Casey and Padraig Darcy. Tickets are €12 and are available on 087 3345465.

The trip comes with hefty costs, as the set has to be transported by road, and there's a large crew, and an Irish night to be hosted so all donations are very welcome. Sincere thanks went to all who supported the efforts so far.
