Classical concert for St Aidan's hits the right note

A celebration of classical music provided by young musicians at St Michael's Church saw €1,286 raised on the night in aid of St Aidan's Day Care Centre.

Crowds who gathered were thrilled with UCD scholar and violinist Cian Dwyer, pianist Bethany Edgar, cellist Éirinn Quaid and singer Cara O'Connor as they brought their exceptional talents together during a performance of song on the night.

The music included all the greats, like Mozart, Schubert and Chopin and the event was supported by Wexford County Council.

'The night featured Schubert's Piano Trio number two in E flat major, an arrangement of Chopin's Nocturne C sharp minor, Kreisler's farewell to Cuchulainn piano trio, as well as other favourites from the heart of the classical repertoire,' said Michael Dywer of the organising committee.

'We were delighted with the amount of money raised and the organisers wish to thank everyone who supported the concert,' he said.

In attendance on the night was Miss Wexford Christine Mangan.
