Class Act L'agnello to show their X-factor
CLASSICAL CROSSOVER GIRLS VIE FOR 10,000 BURSARY AWARD
GOREY Community School students Cheryl Marry, Kelli Ann Masterson and Laura Carroll will be flying the flag for Wexford in the RTE talent show 'Class Act', in a live show in Dublin's Tivoli Theatre on October 12 next.
The trio, known as 'L'agnello', are classically trained singers, who under the careful guidance of Soprano and vocal coach Deirdre Masterson, have made it from 10,000 entries down to the final six of the competition.
The girls come under the banner of Classical crossover music, and their repertoire has varied from Robbie Williams' 'Angels,' to Judy Garland's classic 'Over the Rainbow.' All arrangements have been carefully written by Deirdre Masterson to highlight the girls' individual voices, and portray their talent.
The show is hosted by Derek Mooney and the adjudicating panel consists of national vocal coach Dr. Veronica Dunne, former 'Off the Rails,' presenter Caroline Morahan, and choreographer/talent agent Julian Benson.
The girls auditioned initially in Athlone before a semi-final heat in RTE, and are now busy preparing for the coveted trophy and ¤10,000 bursary for the grand final, where they will be depending on the public to vote in, and ultimately make these Wexford Angels the overall winners of 'Class Act 2008.
