There was standing room only at Gorey Library last week as Gorey Choral Group took to the stage.

The group were performing as part of the national choral singing week in association with Mental Health Ireland.

Acting chairperson Cliona Woodburn said the event has been a great success.

'It went really well and we were very pleased with it. When the library asked us to perform we were delighted to be asked. On the day we were all in good voice so the performance was lovely.'

With a membership of 40 Gorey Choral Group are always in demand for various functions and Cliona said they were thrilled to be able to perform for such an occasion and to promote positive mental health.

'We had a great response from people and there was standing room only at the library. We are always looking for new members, particularly men, and auditions will take place in January.'
