The work of a Coolgreany stained glass designer is to feature at a major crafts fair in Cork this month.

Bianca DiVito, who operates out of The Old School House in Coolgreany, is a stained glass designer and conservator whose work is featured in the UK's York Minster and Canterbury cathedrals as well as St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. Her work will be showcased at the City Hall Crafts and Design Fair, Cork, from November 26 to 29.

Bianca says she is passionate about creating bespoke art glass and her original style includes materials like crystal, semi-precious stones and gold-leaf.

Over €150,000 per day will be spent at the Cork Fair which will feature more than 60 stands manned by the best of contemporary crafts and artisan food producers from all over Ireland. It is the country's biggest crafts fair outside Dublin

In addition to private commissions and the conservation of priceless medieval church glass, Bianca's garden decorations led to an invitation to appear at the world-renowned Chelsea Flower Show in recent years.

'I spend the majority of my time designing and creating bespoke art glass features for the domestic, commercial and public art markets,' she said. 'These can include anything from decorative windows to bespoke lamps and pieces that can be hung on the walls with backlighting. I also create a range of pieces including flowers, rainbow hearts and angels.'
