Fashion will be in focus as the Gorey based online clothing company Dressado holds its first fashion show, taking place at the new venue of the Amber Springs hotel, at the new time of Sunday, September 1, from 7 p.m. onwards

All funds raised on the night will go to the Irish Cancer Society, and tickets are priced at €47.50.

'What I'd love to see if the community coming together in spirit, and raising as much as we can for the Irish Cancer Society. Everyone has suffered with cancer in some aspect of their life and an event like this gets the community involved,' said Michelle Johnston of Dressado.

The theme of the night is 'a girl's life' with the idea of showcasing a little bit of everything from casual to show stopping red carpet.

'Men are of course welcome to come along but what the audience will experience through music integrating with the theme, is a woman going from a teenager to a mature lady and all the different emotions that women go through in different stages of their lives,' said Michelle.

'This event is all about women coming together to help out each other, and the cause is close to my heart as I lost a grandmother to cancer and I've some friends who are undergoing treatment at the moment. I want this show to portray everyone, and it will be interactive with the guests. You still have to wear your clothing through emotional times, whether it's the debs or marriage, and the show will explore that on stage through stories. We want to showcase the ordinary woman,' she said.

Six models from the Gorey, Kilmuckridge and Wexford area will take part alongside one woman from Youghal.

'I'm calling my volunteer models the Magnificent Seven and although I'm still looking for sponsors for the raffle, I've been overwhelmed by the amount of support I have gotten so far, especially from sponsors, I can't thank them enough for coming on board,' said Michelle.

On the evening, guests will enjoy a €100 VIP goody bag, canapés, a raffle and refreshments as well as discounts on clothing.

There will also be a DJ to entertain the crowd, as well as a rail of clothing to take or donate all for a good cause.

Tickets can be bought at online at dressado.ie or at the Amber Springs hotel in Gorey, and all are welcome to come along for a good cause.
