Two arrested after young man is rushed to hospital

Gorey Gardai have arrested two men in connection with an alleged assault on the town’s Main Street that has left a young man with serious injuries.

The men were arrested after a 20-year-old man was found in a serious condition on Gorey’s Main Street outside Katie Daly’s last week. A Garda Forensics team carried out an investigation of the scene where the victim was found. The attack occured last Monday night at around 2 a.m.

Gardaí rushed the young man, who is believed to be from Camolin, to caredoc but he was later transferred to Wexford General Hospital. He is believed to be still in Wexford Hospital making a slow recovery.

A spokesperson from Gorey Garda Station said they arrested two males last week, who were later released.

A file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecution.
