Rising population in County Wexford

The population in County Wexford is on the rise according to a report published recently by the Economic and Social Research Institute.

The report, which was researched for the institute by Edgar L. W. Morgenroth to highlight the prospects for the different regions and counties around the country, shows that County Wexford's population rose by 1.9 per cent between 1991 and 2016.

Counties bordering Dublin, like Meath and Kildare, experienced the biggest rises in population with the aforementioned two seeing their figures rise by 3.4 and 3.2 per cent, respectively.

The south east region's average population has remained static according the report. During the period examined the timeframe when Wexford experienced its biggest population increase in the last 25 years was between 2002 and 2006 when it saw a 3.2 per cent increase.
