Naomh Eanna will lead parade in Gorey
Naomh Eanna GAA club will lead this year's St Patrick's Day parade in Gorey.
Parade organisers said that the club received a significant number of nominations to be crowned Parade Grand Marshall including a nomination from Colin 'Jango' Fleming.
Jango said the achievement and development of the club in the last few years is phenomenal and is a credit to all the staff, coaches and players who have worked so hard for this and especially the memories they have giving to the young and old people of this great town.
He went on to say that hopefully he will be discharged from hospital before the parade and able to join them on the day.
In this year of Gorey 400 the Naomh Eanna club motto of 'níl aon cumann mar do chumann fein' 'your town your club' is one of the many reasons the club will be leading the 2019 Gorey St Patrick's Day Parade.
Parade organisers said Naomh Eanna is an important part of the fabric of Gorey and its members, players and volunteers are what makes the club and Gorey great.
The club has enjoyed great success this year with the Senior hurlers winning their first ever County title. The Intermediate footballers also enjoyed Championship success while the under 15's won the historic double-double with hurling and football titles in 2018 and 2017. The under 17 footballers won the club's first Premier Minor Championship.'.
