Students from across North Wexford have applied for this year's Texaco Children's Art competition.

Last week Bronagh Carron from the competition took a break from judging to showcase some of the Gorey entries received.

She showed the work of 12-year-old Ceri Maguire, from Mary Claire's Art School, Gorey, entitled 'The Dogs Of Germany', and another by 6-year-old John Redmond, from Mary Claire's Art School, Gorey, entitled 'Ollie The Octopus'.

Over 900 students from the county are amongst those who are taking part in the Competition. The winners will be announced in mid April while the prizes will be presented at a ceremony in May.
