Gorey Panto

THE Gorey Panto 'Robin Hood' will play at Gorey Little Theatre this week.

The show runs from Friday, January 10, to Saturday, January 18, at 8 p.m. nightly apart from Saturday, January 11, and Sunday, January 12, when matinee performances will be staged at 3 p.m. instead. Tickets are selling fast from the Gorey Little Theatre Box Office from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Phone 053 9421474 to book.


THE 51 Bridge Club in Gorey will resume on Wednesday, January 8, at 7.20 p.m. All bridge players are also advised that a Charity Night will be held on the following Wednesday, January 15.

GOREY Toastmasters will hold their first meeting of the new year on Wednesday, January 8, at their usual venue, Katie Daly's, 78 Main Street, Gorey. Meetings typically run for two hours and commence at 8 p.m. sharp.

In the friendly atmosphere of a Toastmasters Club, you can gain confidence in public speaking and develop leadership skills. Please come along and see for yourself. You are more than welcome to come along to a few meetings to see if Toastmasters is for you. There is no obligation to join, but new members are always welcome.

IT'S time to start saving again with Gorey Penny Bank, which will reopen in St. Columba's Hall, Seán O'Byrne Park, Gorey, on Tuesday, January 7. It will open every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a €5 joining fee to cover insurance and administration.

JENNIFER Mullen, a participant in the Strictly Scrum Dancing for the Gorey Rugby Club is running a Photo Competition as part of her fundraising efforts. The competition is open to all ages. The closing date is January 11, and the winner will be announced on January 18. The theme is 'what makes me happy.' Entry is €10 per photo and entry forms are available from Gorey Rugby Club.


CONRADH na Gaeilge Guaire is an Irish conversation group which meets every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. in the Bridge Bar for a chat as Gaeilge. All levels are welcome.
