Students from Gorey Community School won numerous awards at the TRI Equestrian Interschools Final which took place last week at Mullingar Equestrian Centre.

Emma Carton came in fifth place in the Final of the Individual Open League, Emma Stacey came in fifth in the Premier 110 Final, Michelle Hughes and Emma Stacey were on the winning team in the Mixed Team Class and Gorey Community School received the award for overall most improved team in the league.

The day started off in the International Arena with the Open Team Championships. The Gorey Community School team consisted of Emma Stacey, Emma Carton, Michelle Hughes and Jessica Murphy, who finished in third place.

The exciting action continued in the International arena with the Open Individual Class, and Gorey student Emma Carton was presented with a rosette for coming in fifth place.

The Inaugural Champions Team competition was the last to take place in the arena. Riders in the competition are randomly assigned places on a team. The winning team included Michelle Hughes and Emma Stacey from Gorey Community School.
