Gorey Community School student qualifies for Microsoft Championship

A transition year student from Gorey Community School made it to the finals of the Irish Microsoft Office Specialist Championships.

Jack White was one of 20 students in the country who made it to the Championships, which were held last week in Microsoft's Head Office in Dublin.

'There was approximately over 20,000 students in Ireland who sat the Microsoft Office Specialist exam,' said Principal Michael Finn. 'This is an outstanding achievement for Jack and Gorey Community School.'

The Microsoft Office Specialist Championship is a global competition that test students skills in Microsoft Office applications.

Gorey Community School introduced the Microsoft Office Specialist course in September 2016 and they are delighted to have reached such a high standard of skill in this short period of time, especially with student successfully competing at the Championships in both May 2017 and 2018.
