Boots Night Walk is back again for some more fun for a good cause and organisers in Boots, Gorey invite the people of the community to come along and take part in a walk, jog or run during the 5 kilometre stretch.

All in aid of the night nursing services of the Irish Cancer Society, the walk will be starting from the Monument, Gorey at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 15.

To enter, it is €10 per adult, under 16s are €5 and children under two years of age are free, and all are invited back to the Loch Garman Arms where there will be refreshments and a raffle after the walk.

'Last year the walk raised €1,485 in Gorey, and we would really love if the people of Gorey supported this great cause and turned out to walk on the night,' said Imelda O'Connor of Boots Gorey.

Anyone wanting to take part can register in store at Boots on the Main street or do so the night.

'If you would like a loved one honoured on the night, honour cards are €2 and they will hang on our tree to remember your loved ones who have passed away, survived cancer or are going through treatment,' said Imelda.

'The night nursing services are totally charity funded and provide a service to people who want to be at home surrounded by their loved ones, they also provide support and comfort to families,' she said.

The walk is one of many organised by Irish Boots stores.
