Garden walk a brilliant fundraiser
The generosity of local people and the owners of a picturesque garden have been acknowledged by representatives of County Wexford Community Workshop (CWCW).
Walter Kelly, and his mother, Nellie, opened up their garden and home to the public for the 12th time last June to raise money for CWCW through the ladies committee of the organisation.
Speaking to this newspaper about the fundraiser the ladies committee Chairperson, Nellie Doyle, said it was a great success.
'They are brilliant in their support for us each year and how they open up their home and garden,' she said.
The garden walk raised a massive €4,000 for the organisation much to the delight of everyone involved.
'Everyone is so generous,' said Ms Doyle.
'We had a huge crowd and it was a great day too which added to it.'
The cheque for €4,000 was handed over to Ms Doyle, representing the CWCW, by the Kellys at a presentation ceremony in the Kilcannon Garden Centre.
