In the aim of tackling crime in the interest of prevention, Sgt Margo Kennedy, who is based in Courtown has a warning to walkers, particularly around the Burrow road area in Courtown.
'For those members of the public who park up and leave handbags or personal valuables visible in their cars, it results in exposure to opportunist criminals,' she said.
'Tourists especially are at risk, so I would advise to keep mindful over the summer months,' she said.
Sgt Stephen Ennis in Gorey agreed, saying that particularly in remote car parks in Gorey and the surrounding areas, that leaving items on display in his view is never a good idea.
Sgt Ennis also asked that members of the public who hold a gun license come to Gorey Garda Station to get a renewal form if they are in need of one.
