Eight brave men bared all for a good cause when Sue Kavanagh and her team held a wax night in aid of Naomh Eanna Gorey ladies football team.

The fundraising night raised €1,500 for the ladies football team who will travel to the Netherlands in March to take part in a tournament against teams from across Europe.

A huge crowd gathered at Naomh Eanna's clubhouse on Saturday night to see Marcus Harte, secretary Alan O'Neill, camogie chairperson Sean O'Brien, Paul Nolan, Danny Boland, Tommy Nolan, football manager Davie Doyle and mentor PJ Pearse having various parts of their bodies waxed. Legs, chests and underarms were left bare after beautician Jackie Doyle ripped the wax strips off her volunteers.

'This is the first time ever we have been asked to take part in the tournament and we are the only team from Wexford travelling over,' said Sue who mentors the team. 'There will 21 of us altogether going, but 17 girls will play the 11-a-side competition.'

Sue thanked Jackie from Love Beauty Arklow for waxing the men and to all who supported the event.
