Coast Guard called to false alarm

Sara Gahan

The Courtown/Arklow Coast Guard Unit were tasked to Courtown Harbour early Sunday morning when it was reported that a person had entered the water.

The unit was quickly on scene at 12.46 a.m. and began searching, but in the end it turned out to be a false alarm and the person was located nearby safe and well by Gardaí.

The Courtown/Arklow Coast Guard Unit would like to remind everyone that if they see or think someone is in difficulty on or near water, dial 112/999 and ask for the Coast Guard.
