Some weird and wonderful science experiments were conducted in Bunscoil Loreto's Primary School this year for Science Week.

The pupils did investigations, experiments and attended numerous workshops that were held around county Wexford. The school invited some guest speakers to the school who informed the pupils about different scientific theories and concepts.

Much of the teachers in the school conducted practical experiments with the children in different areas of physics, chemistry and biology.

During the week, the pupils attended workshops held in Wexford Library about the new scientific approaches to printing. Fourth and second class travelled to Seal Rescue Ireland in Courtown where they got to meet with and witness the seals being fed.

'Fifth class got to listen to a speaker in Gorey Library who talked about the different ways of saving energy and investigated the different types of renewable energies that people can now use in work or home,' said teacher Alan Cowman.

Alan said one such speaker was a magician who demonstrated the benefits of recycling on the environment.
