There was a night's entertainment to be enjoyed at the Amber Springs Hotel for the Buffer's Alley Sports Panel night, co-hosted by Buffers Alley GAA club and Renault Ireland with local assistance from P&H Doyle of Gorey, the Renault and Dacia dealership.

'The night consisted of a panel of sports stars from the world of GAA and rugby and we also held a fundraising auction, all to raise funds for coaching of the underage section of the club,' said a spokesperson for the event.

RTÉ's Marty Morissey was on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly as he MC'd on the night, which added to the entertainment.

The panel itself included Wexford camogie star Ursula Jacob, Ger Cushe Wexford hurling star and All Ireland winner in 1996, Mick Galwey of Munster, Ireland and the Lions, Fiona Coghlan, former Irish ladies rugby captain and Grand Slam winner, Dessie Dolan Sunday Game commentator and former Westmeath star, Marc O'Se five time All Ireland Football winner with Kerry, Waterford's Derek McGrath and Jackie Tyrell, nine time hurling All Ireland winner with Kilkenny.

'There was a large attendance and everyone was treated to a great night with a mixture of opinion, sports analysis and some great stories from our engaging panel,' said the spokesperson.

Prior to the event Jackie Tyrell came out to the Buffers Alley pitch in Monamolin and took a training session with the under 15s and under 17s squads.

'This was a fantastic experience for both our young players and mentors and we really appreciated the time that Jackie gave us. Special thanks must go to the club committee and volunteers for organising and managing the event. In addition we had the support of Renault Ireland, P&H Doyle, Amber Springs Hotel, Jigsaw event Management and O'Hea PR which ensured that the night was a great success,' the spokesperson said.
