Tasty treats and blooming flowers brought crowds to the home of John and Margaret Earle last week.

John and Margaret held their tenth annual fundraiser at their home in Cullentra, Monamolin in aid of the local parish.

The couple raised an astonishing €2,500 which will go towards the upkeep of the Church of Ireland in Monamolin.

There was a great turnout of people on the evening with fantastic support both from the parish and from further afield.

Margaret said she was delighted with the great turnout as their garden evening fell on the same weekend as Pope Francis' visit to Ireland.

'I was very happy with the fundraiser,' said Margaret. 'We had various plants for sale as well as cakes, many of which had been donated. We also held a raffle during the evening. It is a nice time for people to relax and chat.'

Margaret extended thanks to everyone who had supported the event.
