Schools join eco initiative

Primary schools across Co. Wexford are becoming Eco Rangers as part of a Bord na Móna schools initiative.

Twenty-one Wexford schools will take part in the programme which aims to reconnect children with nature and teach them about biodiversity through a series of educational and fun elements such as Eco Safaris and nature walks where they can map out trails, investigate flora and fauna, take of draw pictures and document what they see.

The participating schools are Scoil Naomh Abbáin, Adamstown; Gorey Educate Together Primary School; Gusserane NS; New Ross Educate Together National School; Scoil Naisúnta. Naomh Bride, Blackwater; Castlebridge NS; Loreto Primary School, Gorey; Scoil Iosagain, Coolgreaney; Scoil Mhaodhoig, Poulfur; Scoil Ghormáin Naofa, Castletown; Ballyoughter NS; Kilrane NS; Kennedy Park NS, Wexford; Kilanerin NS; Clonroche NS; Oylegate NS; Piercestown NS; Danescastle NS; Camolin NS; Scoil Naisúnta Baile Uí Coileain, Ballycullane; and Scoil Eoin Baiste, Galbally.
