Students from Creagh College took part in a 5k Wellness Walk on Wednesday morning in aid of St Patrick's Special School in Enniscorthy.

There was a sea of colour at the school as participants wore autism awareness colours of red, yellow and blue.

Teacher Bridget O'Connor from Creagh College said they raised more than €3,000 for St Patrick's and it was a fantastic day.

'The wellness walk was organised by the fifth year LCVP group to help create awareness for autism and to raise funds for St Patrick's School,' said Ms O'Connor.

The LCVP class organised the walk as part of a project they are working on and encouraged their classmates and staff to take part and to wear red, blue or yellow clothes.

Ms O'Connor said the LCVP class would like to say a huge thank you to everyone from the local community who sponsored their walk, Lidl in Gorey for the bottles of water and to all the local businesses who donated prizes for the event. Prizes were given to those who raised the most money.
