Pupils from primary schools in the Gorey district had a fun morning during a School Hockey Blitz held in Craanford Community Centre.

More than 130 third and fourth class children from Gorey Educate Together, St Joseph's NS, Gorey Central School, and Craanford NS took part in Gorey Hockey Club indoor competition which was a culmination of their Tricks 4 Sticks programme lead by Gillian Bailey and her volunteers.

The programme is supported by the Irish Sports Council's Women in Sport and is something Gorey Hockey Club has been very active in. It sends a qualified hockey coach into local schools for an average of six to eight weeks, delivering a fantastic high energy hockey programme.
