There was a hive of activity in the Amber Springs Hotel last week as the organisers of the recent Gorey 5K Night Run presented a cheque for €13,251 to North Wexford Hospice Homecare.

'This was the third and biggest Gorey Night Run to date,' said Cllr John Hegarty on behalf of the committee. 'We were delighted with the response again this year, we had over 800 people take part.'

The North Wexford Hospice Homecare do fantastic work for local families in difficult circumstances. The money will go towards the North Wexford Hospice Nursing Trust to pay the nurses.

'It was great to support their efforts,' added Cllr Hegarty.

Thanks went to all who helped out on the day, especially the sponsors Altura Credit Union, Whelan Pharmacy, Pettitt's SuperValu, Browns Hairdressing, Wades Pharmacy, Porters Bar Killenagh, CJ O'Loughlins, Redmond Hotels, Home Instead, The Beacon Hospital, French's Bar, Doyle's Garage Courtown, Noctor Furniture, Sprint Design and Liam Brennan Hardware.
