RNLI gift shop: The RNLI Lifeboat shop on North Pier in Courtown Harbour is open on Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. All welcome to call in and browse the new stock of souvenir items for every occasion, and help save lives at sea.
Gorey Tidy Towns
Gorey Tidy Towns will hold its monthly meeting in Christ Church, Old School on Wednesday, April 17, at 8 p.m. You can join in the cleaning campaign on Saturdays, meeting at the Tidy Towns shed at the Gorey Civic Centre at Civic Square at 10.15 a.m. Tuesday evening clean-ups begin for the summer on April 23, meeting at the shed at 7 p.m.
The Gaelscoil parents' association is hosting a table quiz at the Coach House, Gorey on Thursday, April 11, at 8 p.m. There will be spot prizes to be won on the night and all funds collected will go to the Gaelscoil. Cost to take part is €40 for a table of four, all welcome.
On Easter morning, Sunday, April 21, at 6 a.m. Gorey Methodist Church is hosting an event at Courtown Harbour. The event is being held to celebrate the rising of the sun for the New Day, and to celebrate the rising of Christ from the Tomb on Easter Sunday.
All welcome to join in prayers and praise.
Bridge Club Holiday
This year's bridge club holiday is to Spain from September 17 to September 24. The package which costs €795 per person sharing includes return flights from Dublin to Malaga with 10kg checked bag, airport transfers, seven nights in the four star Playa Granada Club Resort on half board basis, including wine with dinner. The holiday makers will also enjoy a day trip to Granada with English speaking guide and of course, five nights of bridge. Staff at Springmount Garden Centre wish to thank all in Gorey who supported the coffee morning held at the centre last month, which was in aid of the Hope Cancer Centre in Enniscorthy.
A total of €982.47 was raised for this good cause.
Easter at Wells House
Easter Sunday Easter Egg Hunt will take place at Wells House and Gardens on April 21 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Live music and a barbecue will take place on the terrace during the afternoon. Entry fee per car applies, for more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

Jack and Jill Gorey shop is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
Gorey Youth Needs AGM
On Friday, May 3, Gorey Youth Needs will hold its AGM at 11 a.m. in Gorey Youth Needs Centre, on Mary Ward Lane, St Michael's Road (Beside Gorey Community School).
This is an opportunity to get a snapshot of the various services provided by the project, which include YOLOS Youth Service, Little Daisies Childcare and Gorey and Courtown Youth Training Initiatives.
The annual Shed Fest at Buffers Alley will take place on Saturday, June 22. More details will be announced at a later date.
Widowers and widows
The social group for widowers in Gorey will host its next meeting on Tuesday, April 16, from 2.30 p.m. in the Ashdown Park Hotel in Gorey.
New members are always welcome.

Gorey Active Retirement
Members are reminded that the 2019 membership is now overdue. If you have forgotten, please pay on Friday and ensure you are insured at any Active Retirement event nationwide.
Please note for future reference that all booking, payment and inquiries should be made on Fridays 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Loch Garman Arms.
Non-members are invited to check out the activities by dropping into Loch Garman Arms.
The Active Retirement group is thinking of heading to Youghal for September break and invites members to put a name down ASAP if interested.
A two-day trip to visit Emmerdale Farm and Coronation Street locations takes place on May 17 and 18. The cost is €309 per person sharing staying in the three star hotel with bed and breakfast only. A deposit of €100 is non-refundable.
There will be a tea Dance in Ashdown Park Hotel on April 28 at 1 p.m. The cost is €23 including musicw, a four course meal and raffle.
Members are advised to book early as it is expected to be well supported.
Irish language courses
Coláiste Naomh Eoin is the winner of the Memorex Culture Award, and will be hosting an Irish language summer course in Creagh College, Gorey from July 1 until July 12.
The course is open to students aged between eight and 18 years of age. There will be formal classes, sports, games, competitions, fun activities, céilí and sing songs, art and drama throughout. To book contact 01 2985287.
The St Vincent de Paul furniture shop in Gorey welcome donations of good clean furniture, bric-à-brac, etc.
They will collect furniture if needs be. The shop is open from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday.

Gorey Methodist Church hosts a free coffee morning every Wednesday from 10.30 a.m. until 12.30 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to come in for a tea or coffee and a chat on the day.
Calamity Jane musical
Gorey Musical Society present Calamity Jane this evening at 8 p.m and nightly until Saturday, April 13, in Gorey Little Theatre.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the venue.
There will be a tennis camp at Gorey Tennis Club this Easter. The first camp takes place from Monday, April 15, to April 18 while the second one will take place between April 23 and Friday, April 26. The four- to 12-year-olds will be on from 10 a.m.until 1 p.m. while the teenagers camp will take place between 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Yogathon fundraiser is a day of back to back yoga classes that will take place on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Amber Springs Hotel.
There are 11 local teachers involved, and each class in €10. Classes will include pregnancy yoga, relaxation, chair yoga (suitable for wheelchair users), restorative yoga as well as kids yoga.

The NWSPCA will hold its AGM on the April 25, in the Loch Garman Arms Hotel, Gorey.
All supporters are welcome to attend for a brief discussion on 2018 and what is hoped to be achieved in 2019.
Refreshments will be provided. Organisers are looking forward to seeing all our supporters there on the night.
Festival of Choirs
The Wexford Festival of choirs will take place again this year over four days at six Gorey venues from Thursday, May 9, to Sunday, May 13, and will play host to 25 choral groups taking part.
The festival will be social and non-competitive, catering to all tastes in music, varying from jazz to light pop as well some acapella styles.
All events will be free to attend, but donations to the Wexford Hospice Homecare Service will be welcomed.
400 reasons to love Gorey
The Gorey Polish Cultural Association is getting behind the '400 reasons to love Gorey' campaign.
The group is inviting the public to contribute and give a reason why they love Gorey and what they love about living here.

On completion of the project, a mural will be created in the town and revealed during the summertime.
Save the date
The annual Darkness into Light walk 5km will take place in Courtown this year on Saturday, May 11, beginning at 4.15 a.m. from Flanaghan's Wharf.
Each year the community comes together to support by walking or running the 5km to raise money in support of Pieta House.

Trad singing and May Bush
On Wednesday, April 17, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Gorey library will host a traditional singing workshop and May Bush decoration afternoon, suitable for all the family with children aged five and over.
Join Rachel Uí Fhaoláin and Ceol Mo Chroí and learn about the joys of singing some simple traditional songs written by Rachel and the Ceol Mo Chroí Traditional Singing Club in which they explain the May Bush tradition. All are welcome to make decorations for the May bush, but booking is essential through contacting Gorey library.
The next meeting is Tuesday, April 16, at 7 p.m.
