Active Retired: Gorey Active Retirement meet every Friday, in the Loch Garman Arms, from 11 a.m.
The AGM will take place on Tuesday, January 29, at 2.30 p.m. and the committee members are calling out for new people to join. Without new members, Gorey Active Retirement will eventually struggle to provide the range of activities and events they currently enjoy. As committee members get older the Committee needs an influx of younger members to help and support the work. In most cases support of about 1-2 hours a week would be a great help.
Activities will reopen as follows: Tuesday Go for Life reopens January 8; Tuesday Darts reopens January 8; Art Class reopens January 10.
Parents/Guardian who wish to enrol children in Junior Infants are required to call to the school office by 3 p.m. on January 31 to collect an enrolment pack. This pack consists of an application form, a copy of the school's Code of Behaviour and the School's Ethos Statement. The Anti Bullying Policy may be viewed on the school website.
The formal application requires the parent/guardian to complete and present an Admission and Participation Form accompanied by an original birth/adoption certificate, two passport sized photographs and current utility bill as proof of address to the school between January 7, and at 3 p.m. in January 31.

Gorey ICA meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 8, in the Loch Garman Arms, at 8 p.m. New members welcome.
The next Gorey Whist will take place on January 8.
For the next meeting on Tuesday, January 8, at 7.30 p.m., in Gorey Library, eReaders will discuss 'A Gentleman in Moscow' by Amor Towles. Books can be read in paper or e-format. All welcome.
An exhibition titled 'Other Places' by the Five Towers Art Group will be officially launched in Gorey Library on Wednesday, January 9, at 2 p.m. by artist Aiseline Noone.
The exhibition focuses on other places, the places we are taken to through the process of creativity, places that are far away, places that we once travelled to. This is an exhibition of new work from the Five Towers Art Group.
It features works in painting, ceramic and textile.
It will run for the month of January in Gorey Library. All are welcome to attend.
Gorey Toastmasters will hold an open evening on Thursday, January 10, at 7 p.m. in Gorey Library, to give a flavour of what Toastmasters is all about and how it can help improve confidence by developing speaking, listening and leadership skills.
Toastmasters is a social and mutually supportive organisation where the members are as happy encouraging as they are when they are learning and developing. Adults of all ages are welcome.
Operation 5K walk
Operation Transformation's National Walk is back and will take place in Courtown this year on Saturday, January 12, at 11 a.m.
Sports Active Wexford has teamed up with LTI Courtown to celebrate the beginning of this year's programme and will be hosting a 5K walk in Courtown Woods.
This is a free event for all the family and is a great way to start the New Year.
Gorey Little Theatre present Aladdin for this year's panto.
Performances will take place on Friday, January 11, until Saturday, January 19. A matinee will take place on Saturday, January 12, and on Sunday, January 13, at 3 p.m. All other performances begin 8 p.m. nightly. No performance on Sunday night as bingo takes places at 8.30 p.m.
The R&R Bookclub will meet on Monday, January 14, at 10.30 a.m. in Gorey Library.
Find new authors and book titles recommended by others. Read fiction books, share, discuss and debate with the group in a chaired discussion format. All welcome to attend.
Scrabble club will meet in Gorey Library on Tuesday, January 15, at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome.
A sports careers talk with Eoin Morrissey, Games Development Manager from CLG Loch Garman, will take place in Gorey Library, on Thursday, January 17, at 7 p.m.
This talk is suitable for second level students, CAO applicants and job seekers. All welcome, booking essential. .

East Coast Samaritans drop in information session will take place in Gorey Library on Tuesday, January 22, at 7 p.m.

Colaiste Bhride Carnew are delighted to announce that Mikel Murfi will perform his new play 'I Hear You and Rejoice' in St Brigid's Hall Carnew on Thursday, January 31, for one night only.
The play is a sequel to his previous one titled 'The Man in the Woman's Shoes'. Tickets are €16 and will include a cheese and wine reception. They can be booked by calling 086 8500607 or through the school.
The North Wexford Historical Society will host their first lectures for 2019 on Thursday, January 31, in Gorey Library, at 7.30 p.m.
The subject will be based on glacial history and settlement, given by Dr Robert Meehan.
A free community coffee morning will take place every Friday in Gorey Christian Assembly, Ramsgate Village, from 10 a.m. until 12.30 p.m.
All are welcome to pop along on the day.
Gorey Art Collective have studio space available to rent in Trillium House, St Michael's Place, Gorey.
The aim of the collective is to facilitate the encounter of artists living in the town of Gorey and its surroundings , to promote the exchange of ideas and collaboration of local artists.
