Four nights of comedy raises over €42,000 for cancer charities
Three local communities from across Wexford put their talents together to perform four unmissable nights of comedy and music.
Laugh for Hope and Hospice saw groups from Marshallstown, Camross and Newbawn take to the stage to raise money for the Hope Centre in Enniscorthy and Wexford Hospice Homecare.
Robert Bennett who was involved in organising the event that it had been a great success.
'We performed in the Millennium Bar in Davidstown, Mernagh's of Oylegate, The Horse and Hound, Ballinaboola and Bellefield GAA in Enniscorthy. We haven't the final figures tallied yet but so far we have raised €42,000 so each of the organisations will get €21,000 each which will hopefully give them a boost.
'It was fantastic to see the way that people came out to support us. I think it was such a good cause that everyone was happy to attend and buy tickets. There's very few if anyone that hasn't been touched by cancer in some way.'
