Double auction taking place in Gorey
Two different parcels of land will be auctioned off in Gorey at the end of the month, one of which has potential for 24 houses.
The lands which are being sold by Warren Estates are located in Ramstown Lower, Wexford Road, Gorey, and Glen Richards, Ardamine, Gorey.
The lands at Ramstown Lower are being sold in one lot and is approximately 10.44 acres located on the Ballycanew Wexford Road close to Gorey town.
It is described by selling agents, Warren Estates, are 'a most attractive site' which is 'currently laid out in two divisions, is nicely elevated. It is bounded by a stream on the eastern side and has mature natural boundaries on all sides.
'It has approximately 90 metres of frontage to the Ballycanew/Wexford road and is just over a kilometre south of the town's Main Street.
'This lovely parcel of land is suitable for a variety of agricultural uses and has been well farmed over the years. Given its prominent and elevated location close to the town, it would also have potential for alternative uses in the short to medium term.'
The lands at Glen Richards are zoned both residential and agricultural. It is available in two single lots or as one complete lot.
The first lot is a five acre holding with two of these acres zoned for residential development. The second lot is a 4.15 acre plot of agricultural Land with excellent road frontage to the R742 Road.
The land is also offered as a single lot.
Describing the first lot of land Warren Estates said it is 'a flat parcel of land which is accessed through the popular Glen Richards Wood Development at Poulshone. This popular development is situated just off the R742 coastal road about three kilometres south of Courtown and located on the cul-de-sac road to Poulshone Beach.
'There are a number of residential development and mobile home parks in the vicinity and there was previously planning permission for 43 houses on this site. This planning has since lapsed and part of this land is now zoned for forestry.
'However, the local planning authority has indicated that about 24 properties would be allowed on the remaining land. In addition, Part V contributions for this land have already been taken by the Council, so there would be no Part V requirements on any future development.'
Lot two is described by Warren Estates as 'an excellent parcel of agricultural land in the popular coastal location of Ardamine. It is a flat regular shaped field with about 90 metres of road frontage to the busy R742 Courtown to Kilmuckridge coast road. The new Haven Development borders this site to the north with the Seaview Development to the south. There is a stream to the east with woodland beyond that.'
The Ramstown Lower lands will be sold on Wednesday, March 29 at 3pm while the lands at Glen Richards will be auctioned off at 3.30pm. Both auctions will take place at the salesroom in Warren Estates, Gorey unless previously sold.
