Craanford NS pupils raise their fourth Green Flag

Sara Gahan

Pupils and staff at Craanford National School are over-the-moon to receive their fourth Green Flag for Travel.

Wexford Senior Camogie player Una Sinnott raised the flag and commended the pupils for all of the hard-work throughout the year. Speeches were also given by Green Flags coordinator Angela Morris.

After the flag raising ceremony, the celebrations continued and pupils performed some lovely music. There was an ice-cream van on hand to give out some special treats.

The school worked very hard for the flag by conducting travel audits and surveys. The pupils also encouraged others to use their under pass and to car-share.

Craanford National School held a Walk to School on Wednesday event and participated in scooting lessons with An Taisce Travel Officer Noeleen Doyle.

Last year, the pupils wore bright coloured clothes to highlight the importance of wearing visible clothes for National Road Safety Week. While fifth and sixth class pupils took part in cycling lessons by Cycle Right. The committee would like to thank everyone who helped.
