More than €1,000 has been raised for St Aidan's Day Care Centre by local musicians.

A large crowd gathered in St Michael's Church last week for a 'Celebration of Classical Music' and four individuals stunned the audience with their talent.

The fundraiser concert featured Mendelssohn Piano Trio No 1 in D-minor and other works from Fritz Freisler and John Williams which were performed by violinist Cian Dwyer, pianist Bethany Edgar, Éirinn Quaid on cello and soprano singer Cara O'Connor.

Michael Dwyer, who helped organise the concert, said it was a brilliant night with over 100 people attending the concert.

'We would like to thank the parish for the support, the local sponsors and to all who came,' added Michael.

The money raised will go towards St Aidan's Day Care Centre, who provide services for hundreds of individuals with intellectual disabilities in the north Wexford area.
