The twelfth annual Carnew Heritage Club Road Run in aid of Carnew Community Care was a great success on Sunday, attracting large crowds.

More than 19 vintage enthusiasts gathered in Carnew Mart before setting off on their hour-long journey. The tractors travelled towards The Gap Pub and back to the Mart, while the cars took to the roads towards Knockananna.

Suzanne O'Sullivan from the Heritage Club said they raised more than €700 for Carnew Community Care.

Many volunteers had sandwiches and other refreshments for the participants when they returned back from their long travel.

Many of those who took part collected sponsorship in the weeks leading up to the event, and there was a collection on the day of the Road Run.

The Carnew Heritage Club would like to thank everyone for their support and to all of the volunteers who gave a helping hand.
