Coolgreany: Vintage Club - At a meeting of the club on last Wednesday night, a full financial report was presented form our vintage day which outlined the great success it was, further to that it was agreed that our 2020 Vintage day Event would be held on Sunday, October 13.

Following further discussion it was agreed to hold our Vintage Car and Tractor Run on Sunday, October 27, starting from Coolgreany a midday and travelling towards Arklow, around by Johnstown, towards Aughrim and back by Wicklow Gap, and returning to Coolgreany. This should be a very interesting and enjoyable afternoons drive.

Golden Circle Club

Golden Circle is arranging the bingo on Saturday, September 28, in Arus Lorcain at 8.30 p.m., doors open from 8 p.m. A coffee morning has been arranged on Friday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to midday in Arus Lorcain. Contact Gertie at 083 4042746.

Monaseed NS

The parents' association AGM will be held on October 10 at 8 p.m. All new Members welcome.

First Responders

Reminder to all existing members. There will be three refresher courses over the next few months. The first refresher course is on October 8 at 8 p.m. in Craanford national school. This is open to all existing members.

We are always looking for new members so if you would like to learn a new very important life saving skill and give a little back to our community. Training for new members will be in December, please contact Noeleen at 087 4104707 or Don 087 1166639 or any committee member.

Community Childcare

Craanford-Monaseed Community Childcare Services require two additional staff members room one for 10 hours, room two for 15 hours. To work in line with ECCE School term. The staff numbers will be funded by AIM.

These candidates will be expected to partake in general operations of the ECCE Program and to support the needs of all children in the ECCE Rooms. This practitioner will be employed to ensure a reduced ratio in relation to a specific child's needs. The suitable candidate should be qualified to a minimum level 5/level six in childcare only. This candidate should be available to start on Monday, October 21.

Parent/Toddler Group

Young at Heart Party

Our Young At Heart Party takes place on Sunday, November 24 (Please note: This is a week earlier than usual) Anyone, who would like to attend are welcome to come along for afternoon tea, music and dancing. Coffee morning.

On Sunday, September 29, Ger, Ailish, and Donal will have a coffee morning and five-a-side soccer blitz in Craanford Sports Complex and pitch at 11 a.m. with all proceeds going towards St Aidan Services Gorey for their €100,000 fundraiser. Wexford Local Link

Are you interested in getting a bus to Gorey? Wexford Local Link would like to run a bus from Askamore to Gorey calling at various stops via Monaseed/Craanford and other stops along the way. The bus would arrive in Gorey at approximately 8.45 a.m. in time for those working in Gorey or to get a bus to Dublin. It would then leave Gorey at approximately 5.45 p.m. back to Carnew via routes already mentioned. Please let Brian know in the parish office if interested.


On September 20 the prize of €155 was won by Joanne O'Brien, a regular at the bingo. Congratulations, Joanne. The co-ordinating team for Friday, October 4, is Team 6: Anne Marie O'Sullivan and Oliver Murray.

Visitation of the sick and Housebound: We are anxious to visit those who cannot celebrate Mass with us due to illness, handicap or age. Arrangements to receive the sacraments at home can be made by calling Fr Richard or Fr Felix. Kindly notify us of parishioners who are housebound or hospitalised so they can be visited. We are always pleased also to receive invitations to visit your home or to give a house blessing.

GAA News

Nursery is on every Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in Craanford Complex. We have loads of fun and games introducing children to GAA skills, making friends and learning team work. For ages: 3-6 years. New members are always welcome to come along and give it a try.

Bingo is played in Craanford hall every Friday night at 8.30 p.m. Bring a friend; enjoy a night out with a difference and who knows your luck could just be in. Nice money to be won every week.


GAA notes

Mixed results from last week's three games. A win for the under-15 Hurlers over Taghmon. A draw in the under-14 camogie final with Oylegate. And a loss for the second adult hurlers to Naomh Eanna. The only known fixture for this week is the under-15 football Qtr Final v Gorey in Kilanerin on Saturday the fifth at 11 a.m. National school boys and girls games are now to the fore.

There was no jackpot winner in the last lotto draw. There were five match-three winners. The numbers were 1, 7, 18 and 28. The next draw is in Noels on Monday the seventh for €2,600.

Table Quiz

There is a table quiz in Murphys pub Kilanerin on Friday, October 4, in aid of St Aidan's Day Care Centre a vital resource for North Wexford. Table of four €40 and a raffle on the night. Great prizes all support greatly appreciated.

Coffee morning

There will be a coffee morning in support of Cups Against Breast Cancer in Theresa Kelly's house in Coolnagloose on Friday, October 11, from 9 a.m. to midday. There will be a raffle on the day and tickets are now available and cost €2 a strip or three strips for €5. All are welcome and your support would be greatly appreciated. Kilanerin ICA

Kilanerin ICA are holding a Beewax event on Thursday, October 24, at 7.30 p.m. in the Shamrock Hall. Learn how to make your own Beewax wrap at home. Pilates is back after the school break it will continue on Tuesday night from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. €6 per class.


Badminton in Kilanerin Sports Centre on Mondays from 7 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. (second class) and 7.30-8.30 (third class and up); cost €2 per child per night. Adult badminton 8.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. €5 per night.
