Coolgreany - Sympathy: The local community extend their deepest sympathy to the Finn family, Knockgreany, on the Death of their mother Alice Finn, whose burial took place in Ballyfad Cemetery after Mass at St David's Church Johnstown on Monday, April 1. May She rest in peace.

Wedding Bells

Congratulations to Daniel Kennedy and Kelly Fortune, Askinch on celebrating their wedding ceremony in Ballyfad Church last Friday, April 5. they held theirreception afterwards in the Amber Springs Hotel Gorey where more than 150 guests attended, and a great day and night was had by all involved.

Coolgreany NS split-the-pot

The winner of our Friday, March 22, draw was Karen Meleady, winning €51.50, Congratulations to her, Our sincere thanks to everyone for your continued support. Congratulations and birthday greetings to Amelia Mae Christy Bracken, Croghan View and Corrie Merrigan, Kilahurler, both of whom celebrated their fourth and 11th birthdays respectively last week.

Coolgreany Tidy Towns

The committee are appealing for as much support as possible to help clean-up the roads around the village as part of the two Km road clean-up, anyone who can help are asked to get involved with that work which started at the first day of April.

The committee would like to sincerely thank the St Patrick's Day parade organisers for their very kind donation which will help to purchase flowers for planting in the future to improve the village image for the Tidy Towns Competition.

45 Card Drive

A very successful 45 Card Drive is ongoing in the Coolgreany Inn on each Friday night at 8.30 p.m., everyone is very welcome to come along for a good night of craic at the cards, and some lovely finger food thrown in for good measure. So please join us for a game of 45.

Parent/Toddler Group

Craanford parent and toddler group will next meet on Thursday the 11th, where they will be hosting little blue cow cookery demonstration. The charge for this will be €5 per family. For further info please call 087 610364. All welcome.

All requests for Craanford parish certificates (baptism, Confirmation, Marriage) must be made in person to Craanford parish office on Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to midday (087 3633965 Email

Each application involves the filling out of a request form and, should you be unknown to us, the presentation of personal identification (Passport, Driver's License or Public Service Card). A donation of €5 per certificate is requested. Your co-operation is appreciated.


Bingo in Craanford hall every Friday night at 8.30 p.m.


The OsKaRs community fundraising initative will take place over the next few months culminating in a star studded event in late September when coveted awards will be handed out to those who shine on the big screen, why not get invovled, it promises to be a most entertaing event. On the screening night you can sit back and relax and bask in the spotlight without any nerves to worry about.

National Spring Clean

A meeting of those interested in helping National Spring Clean 2km clean-up will take place in Craanford Community Centre on Wednesday, April 10, at 8 p.m. We encourage people from all walks of life to take pride in their local.

New baby

Congratulations to Matthew Kenny and Deborah Stewart on the wonderful arrival of a new baby boy Billy.

Collection thanks

The parents' association of Our Lady of Fatima Special School Wexford, write to thank you for your generous support at our recent church gate collection. €221.70 was collected in Craanford and €168.27 in Monaseed.

Nurture Africa

Lorraine Doyle would like to thank all those who supported her recent raffle in Aid of Nurture Africa. €600 was raised on the night with additional donations since then.

On March 29 the prize of €185 was won by Lee and Lauren Kinsella, regular patrons of the bingo. Congratulations Lee and Lauren. Thanks to new members who have recently joined our split-the-pot teams. Church news

Visitation of the sick and Housebound: We are anxious to visit those who cannot celebrate Mass with us due to illness, handicap or age. Arrangements to receive the sacraments at home can be made by calling Fr Richard or Fr Felix. Kindly notify us of parishioners who are housebound or hospitalised so they can be visited. We are always pleased also to receive invitations to visit your home or to give a house blessing.

Easter Camp - This will run again in Craanford Sports Complex over the Easter holidays, and it's bigger and better. Great fun guaranteed over the 'eggciting' holidays from school with egg hunts, bouncy castles, hurling, football and lots of fun fun fun. Further information and booking on our Facebook page. Car park - Well done to all involved it's looking great. PLEASE remember REVERSE parking is in operation and a ONE way system. This is in the best and safest interest for all our kids using pitch grounds.


GAA club news

The adult footballers will have played their R2 games over the weekend. See the GAA pages or for results. Next up are the hurlers in championship. The first team are in Gorey at 3 p.m. v Ballygarrett, on Saturday the 13th. The second team are in the Rock on Sunday the 14th at 3 p.m. v Adamstown. Boys and girls' underage games have started too, in all codes: under-13 footballers are in Kilanerin Tuesday, April 9, at 6.30 p.m. under-14 girls in Kilanerin Wednesday the 10th TBC. Under-15 boys' football in Glynn Thursday the 11th at 6.30 p.m. under-16 girls' football in Kilanerin Thursday the 11th at 7 p.m. v Ballygarrett. We need more supporters at home games as well as away. If you can, come watch the games and support, win or lose.

Tidy Towns

Kilanerin Tidy towns is now in full swing now that Spring is here. Clean up each Saturday morning. Meet at the Shamrock Hall parking area work for the time that suits your schedule. All tools, gloves and Hi-Vis vests provided, Come out one day or many all helpers all ages are very welcome.

Kilanerin ICA

Our spring outing will take place on Wednesday the 24th going to the Gaiety Theatre to see Light a penny candle cost is €45 it included bus and ticket to the show. €30 deposit required to book you place contact Leeann Mccartan at 086 8980475.

Pilates classes continue on Tuesday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. cost €6 per class in the Shamrock hall.

Stations of the Cross

The annual Stations of the Cross around Tara Hill takes place on Good Friday, April 19, after Mass, weather permitting.


The local community would like to express their deepest sympathy to Pat Kinsella and family, Kilgorman, Castletown, on the recent passing of his beloved wife Goretti. Thinking of them all during this difficult time. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

2k spring clean

The 2k spring clean will take place on Saturday, April 13, around Tara Hill and surrounding roads. Meeting at the cemetery at 10.30 a.m. Gloves, bags etc will be provided. All help greatly appreciated.

Ladies' club

The annual May outing will take place on Thursday, May 30. Further details to follow at a later date. Tom Brennan from Gorey credit union gave a very interesting talk on Monday night last, tea by Ann and Irene.

Castletown GAA
