Clonegal-Kildavin: Clonegal Tidy Village Association - A Community Workday will take place on Saturday, May 18, from 11M to 1pm. Can you give some help during that time? Please meet at St Brigid's Hall at 11am. It would be helpful to bring a sweeping brush, gardening tools, gloves and a high Vis vest. All are most welcome.

Best wishes to two local businesses, Sha-Roe Bistro and Osborne's Lounge, Clonegal, who were nominated for this year's Regional and all-Ireland final 2019. The winners will be announced at the Irish Restaurant Awards, Clayton Hotel, Dublin on Monday, May 13.
First Holy Communion
Children from Clonegal and Kildavin National School will make their first Holy Communion on May 11 and 12, at Clonegal St Bridget's Church and Kildavin St Lazerian's Church.
There was no winner of the Kildavin-Clonegal GAA lotto held on Sunday, April 28. Numbers drawn were 8, 9, 15 and 16. Winner that match three was, Sylvester Wawryniut, Londis, Gorey, receiving €150 each. Seller's prize goes to Mark Coleman, receiving €50. The next draw will take place in Ryan's 'The Moss House', Bunclody on Sunday, May 12, at 10.30 p.m., with a jackpot worth €9,000. Tickets €2 each.
The community was saddened to hear the death of the late Ellen Kinsella (née Bowes), Raheengraney, Clonegal, who passed away recently. Beloved wife of the late James and mother of Séamus, Mary, Emmie, Eileen, John, Ned, Christy, Gretta, Loretta, Linda, Declan and the late Pat and Tony. Reposed at Byrne's Funeral Home, Crablane on Thursday, April 25. Removal on Friday, April 26, to St Brigid's Church, Clonegal, for Funeral Mass, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. May she rest in peace.

From September 17 to September 19 over 250,000 people will visit Ballintrane, Fenagh for the National Ploughing Championships.

Cloughbawn GAA Club are embarking on a journey to become a 'Healthy Club'. They are launching the project this week and will be hoping to complete a World Wide Walk within 7 days.
The ask is that people will walk, jog or run and then log your distances. By Sunday evening we hope to have clocked up 40,000km. The event runs from Monday morning (6th) through to Sunday evening (12th). There will be group gatherings from 7 p.m. during the week for people to benefit from the social aspect and enjoy some tea and chat afterwards in the club house.
It will then conclude with an official launch of the Healthy Club project on Sunday the 12th at 6 p.m. Also primary students from both local schools are tasked with designing a poster to describe what they perceive as a 'GAA Healthy Club'. Looking forward to seeing you all join together to help us become a Healthy Club.
Well done to our Walk Around the World Coordinator, Joe Lillis, who recently ran the London Marathon in an outstanding time of two hours 37 minutes, He absolutely smashed it, taking off over 15 minutes off his PB.

The Fr McDonald Tournament 2019 takes place this Saturday, May 11. Teams from all over the country will be coming to take part in our 11-a-side tournament. All donations of goodies for the travelling teams and mentors on the day welcome. Anyone interested in helping out with tea and coffee or umpiring and sideline duties are asked to please let us know.
