Clonegal-Kildavin: Tidy Village Association - Clonegal Tidy Village Association will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, February 27, at 8 p.m. in St Brigid's Hall, Clonegal.

Drama Group

Kildavin-Clonegal Drama Group are busy rehearsing their production of 'The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley' by Jimmy Keary. The play will take to the stage on Saturday 9th, Sunday 10th and Saturday, 16th February in Spellman Hall, Kildavin. So make a note in your diary where a night of entertainment and laughter guaranteed.

Snowdrop event at Huntington Castle

An original 17th century garden, with charming woodland walks featuring snowdrops and spring plantings, are available every weekend from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Huntington Garden, Clonegal. The Three Tenors

The Three Tenors perform in Borris Church on Saturday, February 16, at 8 p.m. Ireland's Greatest Voices, an evening of popular classic hits from Sinatra, The Dubliners, Pavarotti and spiritual favorites.

Tickets are €25 and are available from the Parish Centre, Borris O'Shea's Centra Borris, Brophy's Shop Borris, The Little Shop Bagenalstown and, Doran's SuperValu Graiguenamanagh. This is a fundraiser for Borris Church.

Clonroche-Poulpeasty

Donard NS

Donard NS, Poulpeasty is now taking enrolments for 2019. We have small classes and a strong focus on teaching and learning. Contact Sinéad 053 9244295 Clonroche Development Association the latest winner from split-the-pot was John Murphy, Canon Murphy Park. The pot was €218. Remember all funds are used locally and envelopes can be bought in any of the local shops and businesses.

Galbally Run/Walk

Galbally Sports and Leisure Club will host a 10k run and 5k walk on bank holiday Monday, March 18. The event will begin at 11 a.m., with registration taking place from 10 a.m. onwards. Entry fee is €5 for the 5k walk and €10 for the 10k run. Both events are open to all ages and abilities. The 10k race will be chip timed and there will be prizes for the first man and woman home. Refreshments will be served to all participants in the hall afterwards. Everyone is invited to come along and get involved in what promises to be a great community event.

Community Games

Chess and Draughts has resumed in Galbally Hall on Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. All children from eight years to 15 years are welcome. Cost is €2 per child to a maximum of €4 per family.

The County Community Games will begin shortly. The local area will be represented in quiz, Talent, art, Swimming, Athletics, Chess, Draughts and tag rugby. If anyone is interested in any other event on the National Events Guide, please contact local Sec Clare Doyle at 087 4151350.

HOLY HOUR: A Holy Hour with Exposition of Blessed Sacrament will take place in Courtnacuddy Church on Sunday, February 10, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Holy Hour will take place every second Sunday of each month.

ADORATION: Would you like to join the adoration team. Adoration takes place in the Davidstown church from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday. Adoration brings many blessing to our parish and you too will be part of that blessing for just one hour a week. Contact Eileen at 087 9331809.

Scoil Mhuire, Davidstown is now accepting enrolments for September 2019. Table quiz

Davidstown Primary School parents' association will host their annual fundraising table quiz on Friday, February 8, at 9.30 p.m. in the Millennium Bar, Davidstown. Table of four is €20 with door prize and raffle on the night. It is always a great night.

Kiltealy-Ballindaggin

Snow

Road conditions in Kiltealy and Ballindaggin were treacherous at time of writing on Friday morning after a snow fall during the night. Below zero temperatures meant the snow remained frozen causing very icy roads around the area and hazardous driving conditions for people getting to schools and work. However Wexford County Council ensured all the main routes were salted in early morn.

Kiltealy ICA

Kiltealy ICA guild will resume their monthly meetings following the Christmas recess with the February meeting taking place tomorrow night February 6 in Kiltealy Hall. The competition on the night is for the nicest candle holder. New members are always welcome.

Ballindaggin School

Application forms for enrolment in St Colman's National School, Ballindaggin in September 2019 are now available from the school office (053 9388728) or on the school website ballindagginns.ie Please return completed forms to the school on or before Thursday, February 28, in order to facilitate planning for the next school year.

Dancing

Social dancing in Kiltealy Hall on Saturday night next February 9 with music by Johnny Mullen. Please note change of day Saturday, February 9 (not Friday). Dancing on Friday, February 22, with Catherine and the Images. Admission €8, refreshments served.

Grandparents Mass

Kiltealy NS grandparents Mass which was due to be held on Friday morning last was postponed due to hazardous road conditions. The Mass will now be re-scheduled for a later date.

Split the Pot

The winner of Kiltealy National School split-the-pot last week was Aimee Neville (sixth class) who won €204. Your continued support is much appreciated and many thanks also for contributions to the newspaper recycling bins in the school yard.

Kiltealy Hall AGM

Please note that the AGM of Kiltealy Community Hall will be held in the hall on Monday, February 11, at 8 p.m.

Mass of anointing and healing

The annual Mass of anointing and healing will be held in Kiltealy Hall on Wednesday, February 13, at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served afterwards. Our Lady of Lourdes pray for us.

Dancing in Rathanna

Social dancing in Rathanna Hall on Sunday night next with music by Billy Kirwan. Doors open 9.30 p.m. Admission €8 which includes refreshments and raffle.

Duffry Rovers Lotto

The numbers drawn last week were 2, 3, 9 and 23. Match-three winners were Winnie Jordan, Cloroguemore; Betty O'Leary c/o Joan Foley and Evelyn Doyle c/o Matt Mernagh. Seller's prizes: Dan Doyle, Eddie Doyle; Denis Doyle and Myles Roban. The draw tonight is in the Holy Grail and the jackpot is now €1,900.

Marshalstown-Castledockrell

Mass Times

Weekend Masses in the parish are as follows Saturday in Marshalstown at 7.30 p.m. and Sunday in Castledockrell at 10 a.m. Please note that also that baptisms in both Marshalstown and Castledockrell are on Saturdays only.

Social dancing

The next social in Marshalstown community centre takes place on Friday, February 15, with music by Michelle Murphy and band. Doors open 9.30 p.m. Dancing starts at 10 p.m. Admission including tea is €8.

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Margaret Dreelan. May she rest in peace.

Jelly Tots

Our local baby and toddler group Jelly Tots meets up every Wednesday morning from 9.15 a.m. to 11.15 a.m. at Marshalstown Community centre. It is a great place to meet new people and children of the locality. Yoga classes and other educational sessions available one a month during this meet up.

Camogie Club

Marshalstown-Castledockrell camogie club registration evening takes place in Farmleigh Clubhouse on Friday, February 8, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. We ask that all members register on that evening as you are not insured to train till registered. If you cannot make that evening could you please contact a committee member to organise registration at your convenience.

Membership fees for 2019 are - under-eight €15. Under-10 to under-18 €30. Student/unemployed €35. Adult €50. Family €60. Non-player €25.

Storytelling

Next session of storytelling in Castledockrell Hall is on Thursday, February 21, at 8 p.m. Refreshments served. Raffle held on the night. Come along and bring a friend.

Bingo

Bingo continues every Thursday evening in Marshalstown Community Centre starting at 8.30 p.m. with three big jackpots to play for. Thanks to all who attended the bingo and to those who helped out at bingo each week for your continued support throughout 2018.

GAA

Marshalstown-Castledockrell GAA registration evening takes place in Farmleigh Clubhouse on Friday, February 8, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. All players need to be registered before they can train/play in 2019.

Membership fees for 2019 are - Adult player €100. Adult player (fulltime student) €50 (fulltime student must supply copy of student card). Adult non-player €25. Under-seven - under-17 €20. Family membership €40. (family membership is for family members who are eligible to play or train at any level underage). Where parent or guardian holds a position of coach, mentor or any other duty within the club family membership will be €60 to include adult membership.
