St Patrick's Day parade
Another very successful parade took place in Coolgreany on last Sunday, March 17, where a very large number of floats participated. A special feature of the parade this year was the presence of Coolgreany Vintage Club with a large display of vintage cars and tractors, among a great display of old time features of ancient habits which was a dream to see, and enjoyed by all present.
The parade was led off by Arklow Pipe Band, followed as usual by Pat Kelly's Vintage Car which chauffeured this year's Grand Marshall Murt Mulligan, a very keen vintage enthusiast himself, and excellent supporter of our Vintage Club last year. There was a very colourful display of floats representing many groups, and all local clubs in our area were very well also. As usual John Rushe put on a great show with his introduction of all the floats.
It all made for another very successful parade, and sincere thanks is due to all the committee and Stewards, who were so efficient on the day. After the parade was over, the Duck Race took place which was enjoyed by all involved.

Markie Doyle Vintage Run
For the last 14 years the last Sunday in January has been a particularly busy spot in Craanford, Co Wexford. The vintage car and tractor committee have held a vintage run in memory of the late Markie Doyle.
Wexford Hospice Home Care was set up in 1990 based on the need for the provision of a 'home based' palliative care service. There are eight Clinical Nurse specialists currently employed by Co Wexford Hospice Home care providing care to existing clients and to over 300 new clients who were admitted to the service last year.
The service costs over €500,000 per annum to operate. While a certain amount of funds needed comes from the State, the majority of funds required have to come from the support and donations from the people of Co Wexford.
This is where people such as the Markie Doyle vintage committee come in. In the last 14 years.
Danny Whelan, chairman and the many friends and supporters of the late Markie Doyle have fundraised to the tune of over €600,000 and last Saturday presented NWHNT with a further cheque in the sum of €32,771.
NWHNT would like to say a very big thank you to the Craanford vintage committee for their fantastic achievement.
