Bree-Galbally: Parish Marriages - Any person from the Bree, Galbally or Ballyhogue area who got married since late 2017 and would like to have their marriage recorded in the Bree Parish Journal No 19 please email with the names of both parties, townland of person or persons from parish, otherwise parishes/town/county or country of other party and also date of marriage asap.

Galbally St Stephen's Day Fun Run/Walk

The time to dust down the runners is approaching in time for Galbally's 'overindulgence' festive run, walk, trot or pram push. Galbally Sports and Leisure Club will host a 5k fun run/walk on St Stephen's Day, December 26. The event will begin at midday, with registration taking place from 11.30 a.m. onwards. Entry fee is €5 for adults, €10 for a family. Refreshments will be served in the hall afterwards. Everyone is invited to come along and get involved in what promises to be a fun community event.

Christmas Craft Fair

We are holding a Christmas Craft Fair to help us raise funds for the Enniscorthy Group of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust, who bring children and young adult from around the local area to Lourdes at Easter. Bree Parish Journal

Preparations are under way for this year's edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish should have a report of their activities over the past two years already submitted. The committee would like all those who have been married for 50 years or more and have no already been included in the journal to contact them asap. The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebrations. Draughts and Chess

Draughts and Chess classes take place in Bree Community Centre from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday nights. All children from the parishes of Bree, Davidstown and Cloughbawn under-eight to 15 years are welcome to come along. Cost is €2 per child to a max of €5 per family.

Bree AC News

Bree AC AGM will take place in Bree Community Centre on Thursday, December 5, at 7.30 p.m. This is our 50th AGM.

Indoor Athletic Training has resumed in Bree Community Centre on Thursdays at 7 p.m. for five- to 11-year-olds and from 7.45 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Bree Athletic Club members. Cost is €2 per child to max of €5 per family. Little athletics concludes this Thursday till the new year.

Bree Bingo

Bingo continues Tuesdays at 9 p.m. in Byrnes of Bree. Books are €10 on the night and €2 bonus sheets are available.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in Caim Church every Monday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome to participate.

Duffry lotto

Caim Graveyard Booklets

The Caim Graveyard Booklet is very near completion and will be available to purchase very soon.

The book contains details of the burials in the graveyard as well as some old photographs of sporting and school groups in the area. A great stocking filler, or indeed a very useful aid for those interested in family history.

SCHOOL MASS: Christmas Mass for Davidstown School will take place on Wednesday, December 18, at 9.30 a.m. and in Courtnacuddy school will take place on Thursday, December 19, at 9.30 a.m.

CONFIRMATION AND COMMUNION: Confirmation on April 30 at 11 a.m. for Davidstown-Courtnacuddy. First Holy Communion in Courtnacuddy on May 16 at 11 a.m. and in Davidstown on May 23 at 11 a.m.

Enrolment for Confirmation classes in Courtnacuddy and Davidstown schools will take place during the morning Masses on Sunday, December 15.

HOLY HOUR: A Holy Hour with Exposition of Blessed Sacrament will take place in Courtnacuddy Church on Sunday, November 10, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Holy Hour will take place every second Sunday of each month.

Davidstown Christmas Craft Fair

A very special Christmas Craft Fair will take place in Davidstown Community Centre on Sunday, December 1, from midday to 4 p.m. with lots of craft stalls featuring handmade/crafted gifts and artisan products. Aswell as our craft stalls we will have a 'Family Christmas Photo Studio' where you can have a beautiful Christmas photo taken to treasure forever. We will also have a tea/refreshment stall and raffle.

The proceeds will go to Davidstown PS and Davidstown Community Centre. Admission is free and we would love to see everyone there. If anyone would like to donate baked goods for the tea stall we would very much appreciate it. Bingo Night

Ballindaggin NS parents' association are hosting a family bingo night on Thursday, December 5, at 7.30 p.m. in Ballindaggin Community Hall. Fun for all the family with prizes, games, raffle and cash prizes, shop and tea. Books including bonus page cost €7 and €3 for children's book which is half size with kids having the option to purchase a full size book. All proceeds from the night will be used to update the class libraries. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Kiltealy Senior Citizens Party

The annual Kiltealy senior citizens Party takes place in Kiltealy Hall this Sunday, December 1, at 1 p.m. The hardworking committee are busy making preparations for what promises to be a great social afternoon with dinner, refreshments, spot prizes, and great entertainment. Early Years Practitioner

Blackstairs Community Playschool and Afterschool are recruiting one full time dedicated motivated Early Years Practitioner to cover a maternity leave. The successful applicant will have a friendly nature and a genuine interest in working with children. The hours of operation are 7.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday. Qualification and experience: Minimum Fetac Level 5 and working knowledge of Preschool Services Regulations 2006, Aistear the National Quality Framework and National Curriculum Framework, Siolta is essential. Duffry Rovers AGM

The annual general meeting of Duffry Rovers GAA club takes place in Kiltealy Hall on Friday, December 6, at 7.30 p.m. Duffry Rovers GAA club are having a celebration in the Holy Grail this Saturday night, November 30, for the 1969 intermediate hurlers and the 1994 senior footballers. A night not to be missed, all welcome to come along and celebrate with us.

Environment Awards

Kiltealy and Ballindaggin had a great night at the Wexford County Council annual Enviroment Awards in the Ferrycarrig Hotel recently. Congratulations to Ballindaggin School on winning Wexford's Cleanest School Award and to Kiltealy Tidy Towns on receiving a 'Keep Wexford Beautiful Award' for best Community Enviroment Initative for their work on Kiltealy Memorial Garden. It is indeed a great achievement for both Ballindaggin School and Kiltealy Tidy Towns. Well done to all concerned.

Kiltealy Development Group are delighted to announce they have received €1,500 from the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Enviroment for the following environmental improvement works around the village and hall. School water butt, school bug hotel, wildflower meadow in church walkway to wood hub, two grass composters, wild flower meadow over septic tank in park.
