Blackwater: GAA Notes - Just the one fixture this week. Our under-15 footballers will be looking for some silverware when they play St Mary's Rosslare in the Roinn two county final on Sunday at 12.30 in St Patrick's Park, Enniscorthy.

The same team pulled off a remarkable comeback in the semi defeating Bannow-Ballymitty by one point scoring a goal with the last kick of the game. Jamie Lambert getting on the end of a shot across goal.

The adult club AGM takes place on Sunday, November 24, at midday in the parish hall. Nomination forms will be out to club members shortly.

This week 25 years ago Scoil Naomh Bríd qualified for the Roinn C football county final defeating Ballindaggin 2-6 to 1-3. David Gray and Johnny Murphy got the goals with Thomas Breen (3), Paul Murphy (2) and Graham Ruttledge (1) adding the points.

Camogie club news

Hard luck to our under-16s in their County Final v Kilrush last week. It wasn't to be their night. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported them and to everyone who supported all our games through out the year, it's always appreciated.

Draughts and Chess

Community Games activities for the coming year begin on November November 5. Draughts and Chess classes will take place in Bree Community Centre from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on each Tuesday night. All children from the parishes of Bree, Davidstown and Cloughbawn under-eight to 15 years are welcome to come along. Cost is €2 per child to a max of €5 per family.

Bree Parish Journal

Preparations are under way for this year's edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of Oct. The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebrations. Bree Bingo

Bingo continues Tuesdays at 9 p.m. in Byrnes of Bree. Books are €10 on the night and €2 bonus sheets are available.

Bree NS Enrolments

Scoil Seosaimh Naofa, Bree are currently seeking expressions of interest for Junior Infant enrolments for September 2020. If you wish to place your child's name on the enrolment list, please contact Melissa at reception 053 9247725 or email secretary@breens.ie.

Scoil Mhuire NS Ballyhogue

A very big thank you to everyone who helped out recently with our Tesco Bag Pack. We also got a great response to our clothes collection last week from the community. We really appreciate your support. Congratulations to our fifth class student Luke Carr, who has been chosen for the Wexford County under-11 soccer team. Well done also to all the boys and girls who represent the school so well in the Rackard League.

Community Games collection

Many thanks to all who contributed to the recent local church gate collections in the parishes of Bree, Davidstown and Cloughbawn in aid of the local Community Games. A total of €721 was raised.

Fashion Show success

Many thanks to all who supported the recent Fashion Show in the Riverside Park Hotel in aid of Bree Community Playground. Over €5,000 was raised. Sincere thanks to 'Glamour' and 'Ottiva' of Enniscorthy, to 'Perfection with Mon' for doing the make-up and to Enniscorthy VEC Student Hair Academy for the Hairdressing of models and to all those who supported the event.

County Title

Congratulations to everyone involved in Ballyhogue's recent Junior A Hurling County title win. Indoor Athletics Indoor Athletic Training has resumed in Bree Community Centre on Thursdays at 7 p.m. for five- to 11-year-olds and from 7.45 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Bree Athletic Club members. Cost is €2 per child to max of €5 per family.

Yoga Classes

Yoga Classes continue in Bree Community Centre with Grace Reddington on Monday nights from 8.15 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. and on Thursday mornings from 10.15 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Please bring your own mat. Cost is €10.

Smart Fitness

Smart Fitness Kettlebell and Circuit Training Classes continue in Galbally Hall every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7 p.m. The classes are suitable for total beginners and are a mix of kettlebell, bodyweight, floor and core exercises. All Exercises are tailored to suit each individual's ability. All welcome, €8per session or €13 for any two. Senior Citizens Party

There will be a meeting in Kiltealy Hall on Wednesday, November 13, at 8 p.m. to begin organising this year's senior citizens Christmas party. People, who have previously helped are asked to attend to share their knowledge and along with new volunteers who can help on the day so all guests can sit down and enjoy the meal. Party will be held on Sunday, December 1, Spot prizes for the raffle would be welcome and can be left into the parish office from now. Thanking you in advance for your generosity.

Kiltealy school will be having their next clothes collection on Monday, November 18, The school shelter will be open the previous week during school hours. So start going through your wardrobes and presses now in search of unwanted clothes while also supporting Kiltealy school.

Ruby Wedding Anniversary

Congratulations to Larry and Marion Farrell, Kiltealy, who celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary recently with a party attended by family and friends in the Riverside Park Hotel. We wish them many more years of wedded bliss.

Kiltealy Celtic had another great win recently away to Bridge Rovers. Bridge Rovers one, Kiltealy Celtic four. Six games played this season so far with six wins. Well done to all concerned. A ladies soccer team was formed recently in Kiltealy. The Kiltealy Celtic Women's had their first game of the league recently away to Fast Net Rovers and secured a win 2-1. Well done, girls.

Oulart

Wexford Hurling Bingo

Wexford Senior hurling stars and the Bob O'Keeffe Leinster Cup will attend bingo in Oulart Community Centre on Sunday, November 3, beginning at 8 p.m. A raffle will be held on the night for a variety of prizes which include a signed Wexford Jersey and a DVD of the Road to Leinster Champions.

Oulart senior citizens

The committee which organises the annual Christmas party for Oulart senior citizens will hold a Church-Gate Collection before Masses on Saturday, November 16, and Sunday the 17th. To further help defray the costs associate with the Christmas party the committee will also run bingo in Oulart Community Centre on Sunday, December 1, beginning at 8 p.m. Your generous support would be greatly appreciated.

Oulart ICA

Twelve members attended the October meeting of Oulart Guild ICA that was held on Monday the 21st in Oulart Community Centre. Guild president, Mrs Marie Poiritt was in the Chair.

The meeting opened with the ICA prayer, in Irish and in English and was followed by the singing of My Land after which secretary Mrs Anne O'Connor read the minutes and presented the correspondence. The treasurer, Mrs Ellen McCallion gave an account of the expenditure since the last meeting and the balance in the bank, before reminding the members that the annual membership fee is due in December. The raffle was won by Ms Cathy Keating and the winner of the competition-My favourite brooch-was Mrs Kathleen Hyland. Arrangements were made to participate in the ICA table quiz in Camross on October 24 and in the Bowling in Drinagh on November 8.

The competition for the next month is for a home-made Christmas bauble. Refreshments, served by Ellen McCallion, were enjoyed by all. New members are always welcome to join ICA.

Quiz Winners

Congratulations to Oulart ICA table quiz team of Anne O'Connor, Betty Rossiter and Breda Jacob, who won the county final on Thursday, October 24, and have qualified to represent Wexford in the all-Ireland Final in An Grianán, next Spring. Jim Doyle, Bree set the 100 interesting and sometimes challenging questions and was a very efficient quiz master. At the end of the 10 rounds, Oulart and Camross were tied on 90 marks each so a further five questions were asked and Oulart emerged winners for the third year in a row.

Cash for Clobber

A Clothes Collection in aid of Scoil Mochua will take place on Tuesday, November 5. Please leave bags at the school gate before 9.30 a.m. Clean clothing, curtains, paired shoes, belts and handbags are the items sought.

Shoe-Box Appeal

Scoil Mochua will once again be participating in the Team Hope 'Christmas Shoe-Box Appeal' for children in Eastern Europe and in Africa. Filled Boxes should be returned to the school no later than 2.40 p.m. on Monday, November 4. A donation of €4 should be included to cover administration costs.

Craft Fair

Oulart Community Centre will host a Craft Fair on Sunday, December 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you would like to book a stall or if you require further information please contact Theresa at 086 8227077.

Split-the-pot

Scoil Mochua's split-the-pot organisers congratulate its latest winner-Anne Costello-who gets €133. The next draw will take place on October 29. Entry envelopes are available from the school and from local businesses.

Sing Out Loud Concert

Scoil Mochua pupils from third to sixth class are busy preparing for the Sing Out Loud Concert that will take place in the National Opera House on Tuesday, November 19. This is a unique opportunity for children to experience the thrill of performing at such a prestigious venue.
