A ladies' fashion show held in Leskinfere Hall saw the community come together to raise funds for the local community alert group, as well as the senior citizen parties collection.

Some of the senior ladies, about ten in total, modelled the outfits from Finesse Boutique, which is located on the Main street in Carnew.

Sarah-Ann Masterson of Finesse Boutique had a total of 60 outfits for the ladies to show, and models ranged from 30 years of age to 72 years.

'We had a great night showcasing our local models, it all went off very well there was a good atmosphere', said one of the organisers, Florrie Dixon.

'We were delighted to raise over €650 for the Leskinfere community alert group as well as ourselves with the senior parties collection.'

On the night, the ladies enjoyed seeing all the latest fashions on the catwalk and there was also a raffle for some hampers. Afterwards the guests enjoyed some refreshments and a cheese and wine reception.

'We did this first two years ago, it's a great thing to do to get everyone together and it's always a great night,' said Florrie.
