Skerries back on track with comfortable win

Celbridge Town 0 Skerries Town 2

Skerries moved up to fourth place in LSL Division 1B Sunday with a comfortable 2-0 away win in Cellbridge on Sunday morning.

In truth the away side could have scored more but ultimately Skerries boss Alan Sweeney will be pleased with the result as his side bounced back from two league defeats to get back on track.

Skerries dominated the opening quarter of an hour with Graham O'Flaherty and Patrick Grant both going close to giving their side the lead early on. The constant pressure on the Celbridge defence finally told as Skerries took the lead after twenty minutes. The goal came from Patrick Grant who outpaced the Celbridge defence before slotting home for the game's opener.

The second half continued in much the same vein with Skerries piling on the pressure and they put the game to bed on the hour mark when Graham O'Flaherty buried the ball into the corner of the net after great work from Paul O'Carroll on the left.

Skerries Town: Collie McGearty, Paul O'Carroll, Alex Doyle, Keith O'Callaghan, Emmet Mullen, Gavin O'Flaherty (Colin Gill), Shane Kiely, Jason Brennan, Andrew Moynihan (Stephen Gaffney), Pat Grant, Graham O'Flaherty.
