Kinsealy Boys celebrate their victory in the Keelings Cup Final

It was a fantastic end to the year for the Kinsealy Boys Under-12 Sunday team as they clinched the Keelings Cup with a narrow victory over Swords Manor.

The tournament was organised for north Dublin teams to extend their season and other participating clubs were Malahide United, Balbriggan, Lusk United and Stamullen.

After battling bravely over five consecutive weekends the Kinsealy lads reached the final, which was played under floodlights on the all-weather pitch in Balbriggan.

Earlier victories over Lusk, Malahide United and Balbriggan ensured they were in good form for the clash against the Manor.

They started well and were very steady at the back, with solid performances from PJ Hickey, Cian Squires and Liam Aylward.

A superb reflex save from Indrit Domi kept it scoreless, but just before half-time Dillon Farrelly ran onto an excellent and struck an early shot which swerved over the Swords keeper and in off the crossbar.

On the restart, hard work in midfield from Lorcan McGuinness and Cian Kelly kept Swords at bay. The forwards also ran tirelessly, with Lele Mazzola, Ryan Kelly, Aaron Hickey and Ryan Hills ensuring that Manor got nothing easy.

The Swords outfit continued to battle hard in the second half, but Kinsealy held out and they jumped for joy when the final whistle sounded.

Other squad members who played their part over the five weeks were Josh Asamoha, Tadgh Donnelly, Callum Jones, Zach Deere and Jack Doyle, with strong performances throughout.

Dillon Farrelly was voted Player of the Tournament.
