Wherity boys ready for exciting 2019 season
As well as our road and off-road coverage, we take a quick look at the local young lads that take part in pit bike racing here and abroad. I caught up with Shane Wherity and he has been filling me in:
'As 2018 draws to a close, WCS Racing are very much looking forward to 2019, as it is set to be the biggest challenge yet, with the lads aiming to complete a full All-Ireland and Ulster Championship with the MMRCI and as some new sponsors have come onboard, all eight rounds of the British CoolFab Championship on their Blata Mini-Motos, Pit-bikes and Mini-GP bikes.

Finnan and Max will head over to Spain in March for a training camp in Cartagena and then on to the Mini Bike World Championship in Benidorm for pre-season testing. Finnan will make the move up to the Mini-GP 50 class in the CoolFab Championship on a 50cc two-stroke Metrakit GP bike.
'The highlight will be, with a bit of luck, the lads are hoping to enter the FIM Minibike Road Racing European Championship in Italy in August.
'We would like to say a big thank-you to all our sponsors this year - Wherity Chartered Surveyors, Thomas McCabe at TMR Mini-bikes, Ian Dawson, M50 Truck and Van Centre, Putoline oils, Blata UK M4 Karting, NF Moto Race Leathers. Without them all it wouldn't be possible to go racing.
'As we look to even bigger things in 2019, anyone who would like to join our journey next season, as we set a target of a podium finish in British Championship, you can get in touch through our Facebook WCS Racing.
'Alternatively, if you would just like to support the lads and follow our journey, give us a thumbs-up on the page WCS Racing.'
